We hear from people all over Michigan,  northern Ohio, and Ontario, and beyond  out of interest in our School of Herbal Studies, for programs, certification, individual classes, and Home Study.  We offer several Open Houses each year.

In the winter/early spring we offer scheduled Open Houses generally on a Saturday or a Sunday. When our program season begins, we invite those who are interested in a visit to come during one of 3 herb events, which are set up as "fairs" and plant sales.

Green Girls Open House:  Gaia Center. June 7 & 11. Girls ages 10-12 and their parents invited to visit the Gaia School of Herbal Studies, situated on 800 acres of meadows, gardens, and woodlands. Local herbalist Mary Light leads a tour of the medicine wheel garden, featuring native therapeutic herbs, and a Grandmother Tree. Also, a chance to identify edible flowers and try out a cream made from flowers. Tea is served. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. (June 7) & 6:30-8:30 p.m. (June 11), Gaia School.   Free. 769-7794.

An Open House is an opportunity to just drop by to say hello,  look around, register for classes, pick up material, take a look at the grounds , ask questions, and have a cup of tea!  You may come any time between the start time and up to 15 minutes before the Open House is scheduled to end.  You do not have to stay for the entire time; it is an informal "drop in" set- up, with teachers and advanced students on hand to answer questions and show you around.  You are welcome to bring family and friends.

We know our programs represent an investment of energy, time and money for each student, so we invite you to meet here at the school as a step on the way towards making  your plans. We like to hear from each of you if you are coming- it helps to know how the day is shaping up- so do call at 734-769-7794.  Call for address; we are located in the Scio Church Road /Parker Road vicinity of the west Ann Arbor area in the countryside.

If our Open House dates do not work for you, and you have a sincere interest in exploring your participation in our programs, we can speak with you about setting up an individual  appointment to meet regarding your interests in herbal studies.  One of the best ways to test your interest in herbal studies is to come to one of our short individual classes (see "Classes and Programs" page).  You may also register for the herbal medicine and natural healing classes of Mary Light held at Washtenaw Community College , or Dexter Public Schools Community Education.
